We regret to inform
you that The Buck Starts Here has crossed the rainbow
bridge. In his 18 years as the stallion at Holmes Farm
Walkers, Buck produced 260 exceptional foals who spread
his old time bloodlines, across North America. He left
us with
2 unsold weanlings, 16
fine mares safe in foal for the Spring of 2020
and his beautiful son,
All Bucks Start Here, to carry on his great
tradition. He will be sadly missed.
Not only was The Buck Starts Here a GENETIC GOLDMINE for those of you seeking to produce a buckskin foal, but he had a NATURAL walk and great disposition.
The Buck Starts Here's first crop of colts in 2005 was outstanding. One of his
buckskin babies took Reserve in the Midwest Futurity Championships. A grandson of The Last Gold Chance, Buck has no Pride of Midnight blood and is the perfect cross for Pride
of Midnight-bred mares. With his old- fashioned bloodlines and their proven
walking ability crossed with the beauty of the Pride line, his babies show a hybrid vigor, both in gait and conformation. I have been very pleased with Buck's foals - - simply exceptional quality foals!

Just a note to update you on
S'more Bucks of
Cash out of Extra's Katie Cash. We took him to 2 horse shows this
summer in yearling halter classes. He is very well behaved and of course
beautiful. We have done lots of ground work with him and am looking forward
to start riding him this spring.

Hi Jim,
Thank you for your hospitality last week when we
visited Holmes Farm. It was nice to meet Buck,
the Mares and Foals. Buck has a calm, laid back
nature which, is clear to me, is passed along to
his foals. I was amazed at how quiet, content
and tolerant the mares were with a band of horse
crazy women fussing over their colts and fillies
while we were in their pasture. They were all
curious and loved the attention. Your herd are
all healthy, well fed and of sound mind.
